How do I choose the right toothbrush?

During our daily shopping we often fall into a routine. We reach for the same washing powder, yoghurt or beverage without reflection. Meanwhile, manufacturers constantly enrich their products and, based on customer feedback, introduce newer and newer solutions. When was the last time you put a toothbrush in your basket? What did you pay attention to when buying?

"If you don't brush your teeth, we'll go to the dentist!" - this sentence was probably heard in his life by all of us. Good oral hygiene is essential. Choosing the best toothbrush should therefore not be a coincidence. Unless you are a fan of the dental chair and boring is pure pleasure for you?

The best toothbrush... what's it like?

Choosing a toothbrush is not a simple matter. Several important factors need to be taken into account. On shop shelves we will find a whole lot of different products, which tempt with their colours, style and price. However, dentists agree that food debris and plaque are the best to remove soft, well-designed toothbrushes that are gentle on teeth and gums. It is important that the toothbrush reaches every corner of the mouth. The best choice will therefore be a model with a small head.

There are various toothbrushes on the market, including electric toothbrushes. This is a good choice for those who expect careful and thorough cleaning with a little less effort. They will be appreciated by people with limited manual skills and difficulty in brushing.

Match your toothbrush to your needs

Everyone should choose a model that suits their individual needs. The best toothbrush is one we like to reach for. For this purpose, it should have a comfortable, properly modelled handle with an anti-slip handle that prevents slipping out of your hand. The comfort of use is also influenced by the flexible neck, which allows you to reach all corners of the oral cavity in a comfortable way.

A properly selected toothbrush has an optimal shape of the head. In shops you will find toothbrushes tapered or rectangular, with fibers of uneven length, even or cut into the shape of a dome. According to specialists, bristles placed at different angles help to better care for the interdental space.

However, do not be entirely influenced by the opinions of your colleagues. Each of us should find a model of a toothbrush tailored to our needs.

The ideal toothbrush is the one that is exchanged regularly.

Studies show that a statistical Pole uses 0.6 toothbrushes per year. That's definitely not enough. Why should we replace it regularly? When the hair is split and worn out, it loses its properties. Brushing your teeth does not have the desired effect. The toothbrush should be replaced on average once every 2-3 months. Everything depends on the intensity of the cleaning. If you notice that the bristles are no longer flexible, stratify and deform, you should replace the toothbrush with a new, better model.
