How does a laser printer work and does it really pay off?

The first devices to use laser printing technology were the old Xerox photocopiers. Nowadays, laser printing technology has become so popular that it is used not only in companies, but also in their own homes, the only question that remains is whether such a purchase pays off.

It is worth considering when buying a printer whether, in the case of this model, convenience goes hand in hand with economy. Before you buy the equipment you should suggest not only the price, but also the parameters. Some printers offer better resolution, others a lower resolution, some print faster, some slower. There is also the question of the price of consumables, which should be taken into account in the case of a large number of prints.

Does a laser printer work for home use?

In many homes, popular inkjet printers still dominate, because until recently they were the only affordable devices. However, the popularity of laser printers has made these devices cheaper and more affordable for the average user. Usually, when a new device is planned to be purchased, there is a dilemma as to which technology to choose. It is not a simple matter because both laser and inkjet printers have a lot of advantages.

Laser printers offer very fast and precise printing. Laser printer toner cartridge is a light-sensitive powder that remains on paper under the influence of electrostatic charges. In this way, you can be sure that your print will not smudge under the influence of moisture and is resistant to other weather conditions. Inkjet printers offer better color reproduction, quieter operation and lower power consumption. However, both devices also have disadvantages, in the case of inks it is a drying ink when the equipment is not used for a long time. In some models the carcass replacement is troublesome and the original ones are very expensive. Laser printers, on the other hand, are undoubtedly bigger, have higher power consumption and, like inks, expensive consumables.

Can the original laser printer or ink toner be replaced by something?

Toners and inks with the manufacturer's logo can cost up to 80 percent of the value of new equipment. When you print a lot of documents or photos, it becomes a huge expense. Typically, in freshly purchased printers, toners and inks are only half-filled and therefore run out very quickly. In this case, the only way to save some cash is to buy substitutes. These are cheaper equivalents of original inks and toners, which allow you to maintain the same quality of prints. Before you choose the right printer model, it is worth checking if there are any substitutes for them because regardless of whether it is toner for a laser printer or ink Canon printers, the difference in price is colossal.
