What health problems can signal insomnia?

Many people complain about the fact that they rarely get a really good night's sleep, have great difficulty falling asleep, constantly wake up at night and even can't even sleep at all. The cause of such ailments is usually health condition, because there is no shortage of diseases - both somatic and mental - which contribute to sleep disorders. Moreover, its deficiency is a serious threat, as it may lead to chronic diseases complicating life and requiring immediate treatment.

Thyroid hyperthyroidism is one of those diseases that particularly seriously disturb sleep, as it contributes to the over-stimulation of the nervous system. The same disease is also associated with night sweats, trembling of the body, accelerated heartbeat and anxiety, which are difficult to identify, among other things because they are difficult to identify. Worse still, even one in two people with hyperthyroidism are not aware that they have a serious health problem. Therefore, it is worthwhile to react to sleep problems by performing a blood test.

The second cause - depression Complicated sleep disorders are also experienced by people with depression. It turns out that we are dealing with a kind of double-edged sword - depression causes sleep problems and sleep problems can cause depression. A vicious circle has this in common that it is very difficult to make a breakthrough in it. However, even if we do not suppose that depression is our problem, we should take the bar with insomnia, because sleep problems increase the risk of this disease even tenfold.

Third cause - kidney disease When the kidneys are damaged, our problem is reduced ability to filter fluids from the body, and thus maintaining the water-electrolyte balance is much more complicated than usual. As a result, metabolic products often accumulate in the blood, causing both insomnia and anxiety. The risk of kidney disease is particularly important for patients with high blood pressure and diabetes, so if you have trouble falling asleep, it is worth choosing both blood and urine tests.

The sleep disorder is also one of the symptoms characteristic of Parkinson's disease. Tremors and involuntary movements of the limbs make falling asleep an extremely difficult task. Many patients emphasize that the drugs used to slow down the progression of the disease contribute to the fact that peaceful sleep changes nightmares.

Fortunately, although insomnia can have very dangerous causes indicating serious health problems, in most cases it must be identified primarily with too much stress. Sleep problems should not cause us to panic, although it will be good if they make us change things. First of all, it is a good idea to relax before going to sleep, which is helped by calm music or a good book, among other things. This makes it easier to get rid of thoughts about everyday problems, and a calm brain before night will certainly make sleep easier. We must not forget about proper nutrition, either.
